Points are the currency that flows within EngageWith.

Each user has 2 sets of points in their EngageWith wallet:

  • Points that can be sent to others
  • Points that they received

EngageWith points are transferred among users when they

  • send a kudos, or
  • send a shoutout

A Slack workspace admin can define the exchange rate for these points. This can be done in the Rewards settings Section in the EngageWith Dashboard.

At the beginning of each month, every Slack user's EngageWith wallet is refreshed with a fixed amount of points. This fixed amount can be set by a Slack admin.

Points are sent when one user appreciates another. The amount of points that are sent from one user to another depends on the type of appreciation - kudos or shoutout.

The values corresponding to each type of appreciation can be set by a Slack admin in the Rewards settings Section of the Dashboard. A Slack admin can also set a limit to the total amount of points that a user can send every month in this section.

EngageWith points can be redeemed by Slack users for purchasing gift cards, goods and services in the Redeem Points section of the Dashboard.

Note: Only points that are received by users can be redeemed. Points that are meant to be sent to others cannot be redeemed by users themselves.
